Where It All Began
Growing up in Sicily as one of nine children, Josephine was immersed in true Italian cooking from an early age. Fresh ingredients were not a trend, but a way of life. Her family grew their own vegetables, pressed their own olive oil, and made wine by the barrel.
She learned the art of cooking from her mother and grandmother, where meals were not measured in cups or ounces, but guided by instinct, touch, and taste. In that kitchen, recipes were not written down. They were felt, refined, and passed on through generations.
After immigrating to Brooklyn as a young teen, Josephine's journey continued alongside her late husband, Nino, who owned his own restaurant. Together, they later moved to Florida, where she became part of the foundation of what would eventually become Josephine's in Boca Raton.
